Word for New Zealand

New Zealand is a prophetic forerunner nation. She has a strategic role to wake up the nations in preparation for Jesus' return. New Zealand will impart new zeal to the body of Christ worldwide. Like John the Baptist she will be “a voice of one crying in the wilderness.” John the Baptist's ministry was characterised by three prophetic cries.

1. Behold the King!
2. Behold the Lamb!
3. Behold the Bridegroom!

New Zealand will release these same prophetic cries to the nations. She will have a prophetic authority disproportionate to her size.

Two Powerful Anointings

Two powerful anointings rest over New Zealand. One is a seer anointing. The other is an anointing to go to the nations. I was shown a picture of two birds: a kiwi and an eagle. The kiwi was marching on the earth. It took each step with resolve. It was marking out territory for the King. The eagle was soaring in the heavens. The kiwi and the eagle were moving together. I instinctively knew that they were one and represented the destiny and call over the nation.

Kiwi's are territorial. If you encroach on their territory they can be aggressive. They attack using their very strong feet (the famous Maori war dance called the Haka comes to mind). God will use New Zealanders to stake out territory for His kingdom across the nations. In the fabric of the nation is a seafaring, pioneering spirit.

New Zealand was once the home to the now extinct Haast's Eagle. This massive eagle was bigger than any eagle alive today. Eagles are known for their very keen eyesight. There is a seer anointing over New Zealand. The Maori people are both seers and warriors.

The New Zealand Sound

Every nation has a personality and a sound. The kiwi and the eagle represent two aspects of the sound that is to come out of New Zealand.

1. The kiwi is a bird that is unique to the nation of New Zealand. It represents the personality and sound of New Zealanders.
2. The eagle represents sounds and prophetic cries from the heavens.

The combination of these two sounds will become known as the New Zealand sound. It will include the prophetic cry to behold the King, behold the Lamb and behold the Bridegroom.

The New Zealand sound is going to the nations.

Transitions and Shakings

Significant earthquakes will precede major shifts in national and spiritual government over the nation. In no way is this intended to incite fear. God's kingdom is built on faith not fear. There will be government policy attempts to inhibit the expression of Christianity. Although restrictive laws will be passed the freedom of God's kingdom will break out on the streets throughout New Zealand, particularly in Wellington. There will be unstoppable freedom.

Individual Cities

The destiny of a nation is connected to the destiny of each city within the nation. As each city in New Zealand rises up in its unique God ordained destiny the prophetic authority over the whole nation will increase. Each city will become a message. It will be important to understand each one of these messages.

I have included words about Auckland, Nelson, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill. Originally God spoke to me about my home city, Dunedin. The well known prophetic destiny over Christchurch has tended to overshadow the significance of Dunedin. It is only more recently that God showed me the significance and impact of these two cities operating together in their respective prophetic destinies. Then one morning God spoke to me about Nelson, Timaru and Invercargill. That covers all five cities in the South Island. There is something very powerful about the combination of these five cities.

Some of what I say is brief. It is not my intention to give detailed words about each city. I believe it is important to say only that which God reveals and not add anything to it. Prophets see in part. As we put the different parts together we see the full picture.

Please understand that other cities and towns are also hugely significant. I am only speaking the part that God has shown me. God delights to use small out of the way places for significant purposes. May I encourage you to seek Him for the prophetic destiny that is over your town or city and begin to call it forth.

Auckland

Auckland is a strategic multicultural city. Particularly noteworthy is the concentration of South Pacific cultures. It is God's intention for these small island nations to have a voice in the nations. In Isaiah 56:7 God said, “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” The diversity of nations and cultures in the earth is an expression of God's creativity. His kingdom is made up of people from “every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” God intends to establish Auckland as a prophetic witness to His kingdom. As dividing walls continue to come down the resulting spiritual unity between cultures will give birth to great creativity and unprecedented kingdom authority.

Christchurch

Christchurch is a key governmental city in God's end-time purposes. In the early nineties Jill Austin prophesied that it would be a twin city to Jerusalem. The spiritual reverberations that will come from Christchurch will far exceed the natural shakings she has experienced through recent earthquakes.

The name Christchurch is prophetic. It speaks of ownership and anointing.

• Christchurch means Christ's church. God is jealous for ownership of His church. Christchurch is called to both model and proclaim this message.
• Christ means anointed one. Taken this way Christchurch means anointed church. It has always been God's purpose for His church to have the DNA of its founder Jesus Christ, the Anointed One.

Christchurch is called to release incredible spiritual freedom. Spiritual contention and a sectarian spirit fight against her prophetic destiny. The sound that will come out of Christchurch will ignite the warrior bride.

Dunedin

Dunedin is a gateway city. It was New Zealand's first city. Dun-edin is called to be a garden of Eden. Genesis chapter 2 reveals that the garden of Eden was a place of connection between heavenly and earthly realms. It was a gateway through which the whole earth was blessed. Dunedin is to be a centre of great spiritual and economic blessing. The strongholds of religious conservatism, emotional isolation, poverty and small mindedness contend with this destiny. They are assigned to keep the spiritual and economic gates closed. These gates are about to be opened in a powerful way. Dunedin will be known as a city of openers. God has destined it to become an international refuelling station.

Christchurch and Dunedin

The combined strength and unity of Christchurch and Dunedin standing in their prophetic destinies will be very powerful. One result of this will be great prosperity. Christchurch and Dunedin are two of the farthest cities from Jerusalem. There will be a spiritual connection between them and Jerusalem itself which will have an impact on the whole earth.

Nelson

Nelson will experience a profound healing revival. Healing is very close to the Father's heart. That which is coming is radical, radical, radical. Nelson is strategically located at the centre point of New Zealand. A powerful mandate will come forth from this city to restore the ministry of healing to centre place.

Timaru

Many seeds of revival that have been sown in Timaru—both past and present—are about to germinate.

Invercargill

Radical visionaries will come forth from Invercargill. Invercargill will become known for a student revival that will draw young people from all over the country. The city which others have called least and farthest away will have a foundational role in igniting and sustaining visitations of God across New Zealand and even in the nations.
